Target group
The binational master's degree programme “International Marketing” is aimed at students who already hold a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree specialising in business administration and economics. It can be completed directly after a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree programme, but also after a period of professional work.
Goal of the degree programme
The aim of the master's degree programme is scientifically-based teaching of application-oriented business administration with conceptual and practical approaches, promotion of an interdisciplinary, holistic and way of thinking that is geared to the company’s needs and the ability to solve strategic problems of the company in an international economic context. The course focuses on selective further development of the specialised, methodological and social competencies of the students with a view to their subsequent professional career opportunities.
Content and structure of the degree programme
The first and second semesters are spent at the Hochschule Niederrhein, Faculty of Business Administration and Economics in Mönchengladbach.
Although the curriculum of the master's degree programme is based on the degree programmes “Bachelor of Business Administration” and the bachelor’s degree programme “International Marketing” of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics of the Hochschule Niederrhein, it is also open to graduates from comparable business administration degree programmes.
The degree programme prepares students for managerial careers in companies and business-related institutions.
The degree programme “Master of International Marketing" is of modular structure. Each module is concluded with a graded examination for which the respective credit points are awarded.
In the master's degree programme the students intensify their skills acquired in the bachelor's degree programme in the field of general management know-how, (core area business administration), specific management knowledge and specific qualifications enabling them to assume management roles.
As in the bachelor's degree programme “International Marketing”, students study the two main subjects Marketing and International Management. They can either continue to focus on the main subjects they selected for their Bachelor’s degree programme from a practical and theoretical perspective or choose new areas of focus.
The specialisation subjects are:
- Marketing
- International Management
The additional modules offer students the opportunity to round off the content of their areas of specialisation by subject-related projects. These modules are characterised by their didactic approach of project-oriented, research-based learning.
