Hochschule Niederrhein. Your way.

GLOBUS - Arrived well - Welcomed well

GLOBUS is an easy-going, flexible group of students at the Hochschule Niederrhein.
We'd like to make your first steps at our university and in the new town easier for our international students and help them settle into the university and their new surroundings.

Making contacts is really important. That's why we will help you in any way we can.
For example, we offer various events such as excursions to Berlin, Trier or Brussels, barbecues, Christmas parties, plus our International Roundtable, of course. This creates opportunities for meeting people and students from Germany and abroad.

Furthermore, our team members at GLOBUS will be more than pleased to help our international students with any questions they might have.

Welcome Days

At the start of each semester, GLOBUS organises Welcome Days for all international students. Exchange students as well as full-time students are more than welcome to come along.
We tell you everything you like to know about the university, give you a guided tour of the campus and also provide plenty of useful information about student life and everyday studies in Germany.

A trip to Bonn and Cologne is organised on the Saturday afterwards (only in the winter semester).

Registrations can be sent by email to incoming(at)hsnr.de.

GLOBUS semester programme

This is where international students get together to exchange ideas and debate with others, to play pool, snooker or billiards, as well as to dance and party.
Depending on the place and time, we will have changing thematic evenings, such as a barbecue evening in the summer semester, a film evening in autumn or the Christmas party in winter.

Details can be found in the GLOBUS Programme or on Facebook!

Excursions

GLOBUS arranges various excursions in each semester. In the winter semester a trip to Berlin is organised, while the summer semester offers a trip to Hamburg or Amsterdam.

We also offer various daytrips, such as to Heidelberg or Brussels, for example, or to Oberhausen with its Gasometer, to Essen to the Zeche Zollverein mine with its winding tower, now a cultural highlight after the Ruhr and its surroundings became a Cultural Capital, as well as trips to exhibitions or Christmas markets.

GLOBUS develops new ideas every semester.
