The (im)perfection of chance as design potential- reshaping the perception of unexploited textile production resources for an added value of the future.

Franziska Poddig's final master thesis "The (im)perfection of chance as design potential- reshaping the perception of unexploited textile production resources for an added value of the future” combines the disciplines of design and engineering for the development and industrial integration of innovative and sustainable processes from textile weaving waste.
The related design concept focusses on the importance of chance not only from the perspective of sociology and science, but also its potential for the creative – design – process. Inspired by the works of Gerhard Richter, Franziska Poddig establishes in her work moments of chance on the conceptual level but beyond that she developed the ‘shape driven by chance’- a strategy to form a design language based on the idea of methodical chance:

The (im)perfection of chance as design potential- reshaping the perception of unexploited textile production resources for an added value of the future.
