21. September: Active Development

9:30 - 12:30 (with coffee break) Development of ideas and plan for next generation open exchange format

 

Comparative analysis of the current open formats for storage of data of textile structures - with active discussion for each sections and possible task distribution.

 

Goal - to get an advanced open exchange format with minimal effort for all and maximal use

Tasks:

  • Comparison (Wisetex XML, TexGen XML, TexMind XML, VMTS Format)
  • Description of the data Material, Fibre, Yarn, Structure, Cross section, Yarn axis coordinates, Yarn Volume description
  • Meshes, Displacements,
  • Format type XML, (JSON ?)
  • Data aggregation (material + structure + mesh + results -> HDF5 ? )
  • Library - Language C/C++, Python Binding, Other languages?,
  • Library License (open, but permissive) MIT, LPGL, Mozilla etc.,?

The report will be prepared and coordinated with the colleagues by the host (Yordan Kyosev), please send any comments

 

12:30 Lunch

 

14:00 Discussion - another modelling issues. Possible topics:

 

Tasks for simplification of the parameter identification of yarns and structures (Discussion about open tasks for bending rigidity, lateral compression, lateral material behaviour)
Speeding up, parallelisation, GPGPU
Roadmap Modelling
Possible tasks for the future research and communication between academia and commercial developers
Discussion about possible projects at EU or other founding

Registration and Costs:

The meeting is open for all interested modellers and all academic and commercial software developers are welcome to participate.
 


The small registration fee (will be anounced soon), will cover the costs for lunches and dinner, transfer to the dinner and the guided tour there, only.
