Electrical Engineering and Computer Science

Hochschule Niederrhein. Your way.

Welcome to our Faculty

We have been teaching our students in Krefeld for more than fifty years now, initially beginning with "Graduierten Ingenieuren" (Graduate Engineers), moving on to "Diplomingenieuren" (Diplom Engineers) and the renowned Dipl.Ing. degree, and continuing today with Bachelor's and Master's of Engineering programmes. In the 1990s, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering added a degree programme in Computer Science, from which Bachelor's of Science and Masters of Science are graduating today.

With our long tradition in mind, we continuously improve our courses, thereby taking both technical as well as social developments into consideration. As in the early years, we are continuing to foster our contacts and relations with the people and companies living or based in our region. We give our students the qualficiations and skills needed to become much sought-after professionals, not only in our specific area, but also all round the world, and so enable them to address interesting and sustainable topics in the future.

Research

The whole of the Lower Rhine is fully committed to playing an active role in the region by driving research and development forward and engaging in knowledge transfer together with the Hochschule Niederrhein.

The potential scope and range of applied scientific services offered at the HN is truly unique.

The successes achieved in research and innovation, in the many high-profile projects and networks and in the Euregio itself, as well as the growing number of pioneering affiliated and in-house business start-ups confirm the quality of this approach every day, as does the ever-increasing volume of contract research and examples of successful cooperation.

The following provides an initial impression of our institutes and Competence Centres as well as the services they offer.
