A high-quality book scanner is available at the Mönchengladbach campus library. It can be used to scan books, journals, documents etc. and save them on a flash drive or transfer them to a mobile device using an app. The scanner’s manual is attached to the scanner. For any questions, please contact the service counter. Scanning is free of charge. Please observe the copyright laws. The library is not liable for the use of the generated scan files.
Scientific work
The special "Scientific Work" collection in the Mönchengladbach campus library summarises special literature on the topic of scientific work. It provides help and assistance on topics such as homework, time management, efficient learning, motivation, memory training etc. The books are presented as one collection and have a special mark. Borrowing is only possible as a short-term loan (see Short-term loan). Copies of some titles are also part of the regular stock. A list of these books with scans of the title page and table of contents can be viewed on "Course reserve material".
Self-collection
You can pick up and check out your reserved and ordered books during the opening hours (see Addresses). The ordered or reserved items are sorted by the last two digits of your library card number, within this group by the last four digits of the library number. After removal, please check out the items at the self-issue machines. (see Self-issue machines). Please make sure that you only remove items that are for you. The reserved items are available for up to ten working days. Items delivered via inter-library loan can only be collected at the service counter during service hours (see Service hours).
Self-issue of items
Self-issue machines are available in the libraries during opening hours. Here you can check out, return or renew your books or view your account. This prevents waiting times at the service counter. Your library ID and password are required. Use is menu-driven. You will be issued a receipt. Inter-library loans can only be checked out and returned at the service counter. Please note the service hours.
You can also return borrowed books by mail (see Addresses). You are responsible for sending the items. To avoid late fees, please calculate enough time for shipping. The items must arrive at the library by the end of the loan period. The chargeback date is decisive.
