Thinking Culture. German Philosophy, Culture, and Translation' - Lecture & discussion
Cultures develop through processes of inter- or transcultural exchange. Such processes need to be mediated by the work of translation between different languages and idioms. As a practice of dealing with foreign languages, different cultural world views and ways of living, the work of translation requires us to reflect on the manner in which persons from different countries or belonging to different linguistic communities express their thoughts and feelings.
