Willkommen am IMH

– dem Institut für Modellbildung und Hochleistungsrechnen

Das IMH vereint Kompetenzen der Modellbildung in Form numerischer Simulationen und maschinellen Lernens sowie der Anwendung künstlicher Intelligenz, der Automatisierung und der Robotik mit einer eigenen Infrastruktur für High-Performance-Computing (HPC). Davon profitieren insbesondere kleine und mittelständische Unternehmen unter den Forschungspartnern sowie andere Fachbereiche, Institute und Kompetenzzentren, die weder über eigene Experten in diesen Bereichen noch entsprechende Hardware verfügen. Das IMH greift die neuesten Entwicklungen in den HPC-Architekturen und Algorithmen aus der Forschung auf und macht sie für aktuelle ingenieur-, wirtschafts- und gesundheitswissenschaftliche Probleme nutzbar. In diesem Kontext wird neben der Betreuung von studentischen Projekten und Abschlussarbeiten die weitergehende akademische Qualifikation über das Promotionskolleg NRW angeboten.
